The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Duhok proudly announces that Assistant Professor Hani Mohammad-Ameen Hussain has been officially granted a patent by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC) – Ministry of Planning, Republic of Iraq.

  • Patent Number: 8546
  • Grant Date: September 2, 2026
  • Invention Title: Design and Fabrication of a Prototype Duckfoot Sweep for Chisel Plows (تصميم وتصنيع نموذج لسلاح رجل البطة للمحراث الحفار)
  • Inventors:
    1. Asst. Prof. Hani Mohammad-Ameen Hussain (University of Duhok / College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences)
    2. Prof. Dr. Hussein Dhahir Taher (University of Kirkuk / College of Agriculture)
    3. Prof. Dr. Akram Abbas Khalaf (University of Duhok / College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences)

The importance of this innovative model: The innovative model is used in the tillage process and immediately followed by planting without the need to refine the field soil, thereby reducing production costs. Additionally, the innovative model is effectively used in field tillage to improve performance and the smoothness of the plow passing through the soil, as well as eliminating the problem of the blade wing bending during tillage over time. It can be applied under Iraqi agricultural conditions (rainfed agriculture).

This patent highlights a significant technological advancement in agricultural machinery engineering, enhancing soil cultivation efficiency and contributing directly to the modernization of the agricultural sector. The Deanship of the College extends its warmest congratulations to the research team for this outstanding scientific achievement and wishes them continued success in their academic and research endeavors.
