  1. PhD degree from the College of Humanities, University of Duhok, in 2024.
  2. Master’s degree from the College of Arts, University of Duhok, in 2010.
  3. Bachelor’s degree from the College of Arts, University of Duhok, in 2000.

I began my teaching career in 2010 after obtaining my master's degree, working at Nawroz University in the Law Department. There, I taught Kurdish studies in several colleges and departments, including the College of Administration and Economics, the College of Engineering, the English Department, and the Law Department itself. This diversity contributed to a multifaceted academic experience, as I interacted with students from various scientific and humanities disciplines, enhancing my ability to adapt the curriculum to the specific nature and knowledge requirements of each field.

Later, when I moved to the Department of International Relations, my experience expanded to include teaching courses of a political and intellectual nature, such as Kurdish studies, political research methodology, and political developments in contemporary Iraq. This provided me with the opportunity to engage with issues of political thought and contemporary historical transformations, while also developing students' skills in analysis, critique, and academic research.

Since 2021, after transferring to the University of Duhok, College of Education, Department of History, my teaching has focused on historical subjects, including Islamic civilization, ancient European history, and historical research methodology. This shift was a natural extension of my interest in historical knowledge and academic methodology, especially as I pursued doctoral studies. This experience positively impacted the development of my teaching methods and the integration of academic material with modern research.

The significance of this experience lies in its combination of intellectual diversity and academic continuity. It has reinforced my conviction that university teaching is not merely an educational process, but a scholarly and cultural responsibility aimed at preparing a generation equipped with critical awareness, research and analytical skills, and the ability to contribute to society and knowledge.

Research

My research interests revolve around the history of political thought within the framework of Islamic knowledge during the medieval period, extending to the history of philosophy and the history of Islamic civilization during that era. My research focuses primarily on intellectual and philosophical issues, analyzing them within their historical and epistemological contexts, moving beyond a mere traditional historical narrative of political and military events.

These interests stem from a firm conviction that a deep understanding of Islamic history necessitates delving into its intellectual and philosophical system, and elucidating the dialectical relationship between thought and power, between philosophy and Islamic law, and between political theory and civilizational practice. The political and social transformations of that era cannot be comprehended in isolation from the intellectual and philosophical frameworks that contributed to shaping and guiding them.

In light of this, my research seeks to offer critical analytical readings of the Islamic intellectual heritage, focusing on reinterpreting texts and concepts within their civilizational contexts, thereby enriching the intellectual dialogue surrounding this rich human intellectual legacy.

I began supervising undergraduate research projects at Nawroz University in 2010 before moving to Duhok University in 2021, where I continued my academic and supervisory work in the Department of History. My supervisory responsibilities included guiding students in selecting research topics based on scientific originality, formulating research problems with methodological precision, adopting appropriate methodologies for the nature of the studies, and monitoring the stages of analysis and academic writing in accordance with the requirements of rigorous scientific research. The research I supervised at Nawroz University ranged from modern history to international relations, based on the interdisciplinary connections between the two fields, particularly regarding the development of political systems and contemporary international transformations. My assignment to teach the Political Research Methodology course also contributed to enhancing my supervisory experience and developing my methods for guiding students in scientific research, as well as cultivating their analytical and reasoning skills and their ability to connect historical events to their political and intellectual contexts. At the University of Duhok, Department of History, my academic supervision encompassed research in modern history and medieval Islamic history. I focused on training students in the critical analysis of primary and secondary historical sources, employing them according to a rigorous scientific methodology, while emphasizing the principles of objectivity, academic integrity, and adherence to sound historical research standards. This accumulated supervisory experience contributed significantly to supporting students' research paths and developing their scholarly competencies, thereby enhancing their ability to produce academic research characterized by systematic analysis and sound critical thinking.
