Scientific Field Trip for Second-Stage Soil and Water Sciences Students to the Duhok Water Project (Kharab Dem)

On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the Department of Soil and Water Sciences at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Duhok, organized a scientific field trip for its second-stage students to the Directorate of Duhok Water Project (Kharab Dem).

Organized as part of the practical curriculum for the "Aquatic Chemistry" course, the visit aimed to raise the students' academic and practical capabilities, broaden their field experience, and advance the quality of higher education.

The trip was supervised by:

• Asst. Prof. Vahil Ismael Hassan
• Asst. Lect. Sipal Mohammed Taher Yousif

During the tour, students closely observed modern water purification processes, chemical filtration stages, and quality-testing procedures, allowing them to directly bridge theoretical classroom knowledge with hands-on industrial and environmental applications.
