The lady that empowers trees!

If you want to consult about generating multi-copies of your plant from its different parts utilizing nutrient media and phytohormones in vitro, then Assist. Prof. Dr. Laylan Husain Fadladeen Alnaqshabandy is the right person to talk to. As a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Forestry, College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Duhok, Alnaqshabandys specialization focuses on studies in Plant tissue culture techniques. Using these techniques, she was able to propagate various tree and plant species that have economic value such as Paulownia and Red maple trees in addition to ten varieties of Potatoes. Accordingly, her research results were soon distinguished in journals, magazines, and TV channels, and made professional collaborations in her field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq (KRI), central and south of Iraq, and globally. Recently, under the title ‘Plant Propagation Lab to Combat Climate Change’ an overview of her achievements was published in Kurdistan Chronicle Magazine (Pages 112-115). The magazine is a non-partisan monthly platform that reflects the development of KRI in international events, while it is supported by the presidency of KRI.

Despite Alnaqshabandys laboratory practices, she also holds managerial tasks at the Department of Forestry as the Head of the practical lectures' enforcement committee. Over the years of scientific contribution, she continues to bring back her knowledge to society through teaching under- and postgraduates in academia, and in public inter- and national conferences.
