I have gained valuable teaching experience in the field of the English language and translation. My work has focused on teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to learners at different proficiency levels, emphasizing the development of linguistic accuracy, communicative competence, and cultural awareness. I have taught a range of subjects, including grammar, morphology, translation practice, translation criticism, translation studies, and contrastive linguistics, helping students bridge the gap between English and Kurdish.
My teaching philosophy centers on creating an interactive and learner-centered environment, where students are encouraged to analyze meaning, explore translation strategies, and reflect critically on linguistic differences. I also incorporate authentic texts and task-based activities to enhance students’ practical translation skills and their understanding of equivalence, non-equivalence, and contextual meaning.
I have actively participated in quality assurance processes aimed at maintaining and improving academic standards within the English and Translation departments. My involvement includes contributing to curriculum development, course evaluation, and program review in alignment with institutional and accreditation requirements. I have collaborated with colleagues to ensure that learning outcomes, assessment criteria, and teaching methodologies meet national and international quality benchmarks.
In addition, I have taken part in academic activities such as workshops, seminars, and departmental meetings focused on enhancing teaching effectiveness, research quality, and translation pedagogy. These experiences have deepened my understanding of academic standards, learner-centered education, and continuous improvement practices in higher education.
